– AGC founded in November, 1918
– Federal government requested U.S. Chamber of Commerce to unite industry associations in 1912
– Founding members met in Atlantic City in 1918
– Group formed AGC in Chicago in fall of 1918

Membership:
– Represents over 6,500 American general contractors
– Represents over 9,000 specialty-contracting firms
– More than 10,500 service providers and suppliers associated with AGC
– Nationwide network of chapters
