History:
– Build UK launched on 1 September 2015 after the merger of UKCG and NSCC.
– Members include industry clients, main contractors, and trade associations representing over 11,500 specialist contractors.
– Build UK claims to represent over 40% of UK construction.
– Initial action plan focused on image of construction, skills needs, pre-qualification, health and safety, and fair payment practices.
– After Carillion’s liquidation in January 2018, Build UK aimed to reform the construction industry’s commercial model.

Membership:
– Build UK has four categories of membership: Alliance, Clients, Contractors, and Trade Associations.

Awards:
– In 2022, Build UK received the Royal Charter Award for Excellence in Construction from the Worshipful Company of Constructors for its leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK.
